Wednesday. Fourth day of the week. Last night we went dancing merengue. Like with flashing lights and stuff. Rum. No headache thanks. In honor of such rhythms we bring you [ dear audience ] a little jewel from Dominican Republic: Rita Indiana y Los Misterios, a merengue-fóquer ensemble that bla, bla, bla. No-frills music with influences from El Terror, Iron Maiden and Patti Smith that according to the band sounds like “las siete potencias africanas”. For posterity, the phrase “I know you Yoko Ono King Kong” that the singer yells around the 0:55. We leave you with “El Blu del Ping Pong” [ the Ping Pong Blues ] and if you click here, a psychedelic youtube video of the same song. See you on Thursday mates.
